Fruition started about 10 years ago when I was still “working for the man.” I had gotten pretty good at graphic design and understood marketing, but something just didn’t “fit.” I wasn’t cut out for the corporate life working for someone else’s company to fulfill their dreams. I wanted the freedom and flexibility to work with many clients and grow a profitable business – MY way! I just didn’t have the guts to do it full-time. So I kept my day job and dreamed of the day I could quit.

Then September 11 happened and it affected me deeply. I began an all-out soul search and revived my resolve for getting out of the “daily grind” and “make it” on my own.

So in February, 2003, I said “good-bye” to my co-workers and started hitting the pavement. If I thought it was going to be easy, I was dead wrong! Looking back on it, I think I expected everyone to come to ME. It took lots of guts to step outside of my comfort zone and meet new people and network, but I’m very glad I did.

Fast-forward to today. I don’t profess to know it all, but I’ve learned a tremendous amount about “making it” as a small business owner – that you will indeed get out of it what you put in. I’ve more than doubled my income from my last J-O-B and I’m living with more purpose and freedom. I’m very excited to have found this venue of sharing my specialized knowledge with YOU.
